so I have some water lettuce, got it about a week ago, maybe 2 weeks. I have both my internal filter and my Koralia near the top to give some good surface disturbance. Should I just give up on this floating plant? its just getting pushed all around my tank and then wedged in the corner behind the filter, where its not getting much if any light, also its getting stuck on my powerhead, causing me to have to pull a plant out of the grill every couple hours, really annoying. i like the way it looks but what can i do?

i tried making a floating circle with some tubing, but the tubing barely stayed afloat itself.

anyone got any genius ideas for me?

I have both Water Lettuce and Amazon Frogbit in my tank which does have quite a bit of water flow, but only in places.
I find the individual heads get pushed by the current to a calmer area. And sometimes the roots gets caught on one of the taller bits of wood and hold it in place.
Both these type of plants multiply so quickly though that they more or less cover the surface of the tank in a few weeks. And just by sheer weight of numbers some have to be in the stronger current.

just came home after being gone for all day and my Koralia is completely covered in my water lettuce, im sure the flow is significantly reduced. i need to figure something out cuz leaving it as is isnt going to work. i think i have dwarf water lettuce

I take clear plastic cups and cut them to make rings that float, and then keep the floaters in that. At least that's worked for me in the past. I don't really use it for my salvinia.
