I have some floating red root that's getting tossed around from my HOB filter. I've heard of some sort of floating something to hold the plants to the side. Does anyone have something like this and what did you use?

yes.
so get some bendable straws, and then flatten the short end. then fold the flattened short end in half near the front, and insert that into another straw. repeat until desired shape (i figured squares and triangles work best, the bigger shapes are kind of.... wobbly

You can also use airline tubing. Make a ring and stick the plants in, or use some suction cups and corral off a corner of the tank.

I get the idea. Need to locate some clear or black bendy straws. Thought for sure there was actually something made for it, but been striking out.
you know how you can join together the glow sticks
its kind of like that professionally
but i dont have that money and plus its like 10 cents to create a bigger one and works the same

I I don't think I would ever use glow sticks. I don't know how sealed they are and wouldn't chance any of the inside liquids coming out, but that's just me.

I think they were just giving an example of sticking them together. I think?
