Floating Pellets?

I don't know if they're suitable for all fish but the Hikari Betta Bio Gold definitely float. My bettas eat them immediately but last week when I brought a new betta home, he wouldn't eat at first. The ones I put in his tank were still floating about 2 hours later.
 
I feed Boris a wide variety of foods. One of them being Wardleys Floating Cichlids pellets. Yes they actually do float. He's a pig and comes half way out of the water when "attacking" the pellets. On occaion he has totally leapt from the tank while feeding. One concern in using floating pellets is air intake while feeding. Ive learned that if they take in too much it could lead to swim bladder. Someone correct me if Im wrong.
 
I've never had a problem with 'floating fish pellets' actually floating and I rotate brands just about every time I buy them. Personally I think ya just got a bad batch or something.

I've read about fish taking in air while surface feeding and I logically understand how such could happen... but I've had large cichlids off and on for a lotta years and I've always kept their base diet the pellets without any problems. Well, as some have mentioned, fish jumping up (and rarely, but sometimes out) while in a feeding frenzy. I've even seen fish bump the lip and make it pop open before...
