Flare Switch

Just wanted to share this with you guys because it was hilarious...

Last night I went to bed early and my fiance stayed up playing Halo2. Well, once he was finished he turned out all the lights in our house and noticed something hilariously unusual. Since the male betta tanks' lights were still on he noticed that they were flaring constantly. He turned the switch for the dining room light on and the flaring stopped. He turned the switch off and the flaring began again. All three boys must've seen their reflections in the tank walls and had their flare sessions. So, in order now for us to take flaring pics of all our males in the dining area all we have to do now is turn their tank lights on and turn the dining room light off and the sessions begin. He must've spent at least a couple of minutes just turning the lights on and off and watching them flare off and on before calling me, but sure enough it's a constant thing.... it's almost like a trick! Too funny... anyway, just wanted to share and ask if anyone else has a neat trick that'll make their bettas flare like this. (I can't wait to go home and see if they'll do it again )

Yeah, it was hilarious! Then he woke me up and had to show me their new "trick"... So imagine both of us out there turning on and off the lights numerous times!

That's so funny! Bettas are so entertaining.

Mine also like to flare at themselves when we turn on the tank specific lights. We had to turn them off or they'd be flaring all the time!
