Flame Moss Questions

I really want to get some flame moss to carpet the foreground of my 20 gal, I have T8, liquid CO[sup]2[/sup]
Is there any way to get it to grow on the sand? If not, how would one attach it to the ground? Also, will it carpet, or as my research has said, flame moss only grows up and not out? Thanks

You could use a mesh and wrap the flame moss around it, when the moss establish itself and grow to about an inch or so it'll spread out.
