Flame Dwarf Honey Gourami!

This is my juvenile Flame Dwarf Honey Gourami, named Honey! She's so tiny. . . barely an inch long! She always investigates the fish by touching them with her feelers. I bought two of these Gouramis, but Honey's companion sadly died. Does anyone know if Honey's a male or female? I want to get another friend for Honey, but first I want to be certain that she's a girl . . . well, at least I think it's a girl.

NICE FISH!!! :restinpiece: to its mate it looks like a male to me, but im not 100% on that......for 2 spot's a rounded dorsal means female and visaa versa...

There is no such thing as a flame honey gourami....

There is the flame dwarf gourami
Red honey gourami
and honey gourami.... here are some pics to illustrate the differences...

Um. . . that's what the sign said at the pet store. I guess they made a mistake! Then what kind of Gourami is this? She (or he) has a honey colored body with red at the tips of the fins. I'm new to Gouramis, so I'm still learning about the differnt species.

You have a red honey gourami. The one in my picture is of an adult male and most don't actually get that orange/red as the one in my picture.

Since yours is still young it probably hasn't gotten all of it's color yet, or it may just be a girl.

But it is FOR SURE a red honey gourami.
