Flame Dwarf Gourami

Hi all. Just a few days ago my flame dwarf gourami has been cringing in the corner like it has no energy. It looks as if its scales have gone brown/dark, and it tends to lie on a slant. At times it will get a bit of energy and go round the tank but majority is spent in one spot. Any help will be greatly appreciated

How long have you had it and whats the layout of the tank? Dwarf gourami like lots of vegetation at the top to hide in.
Have you tested your ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and ph recently as black is either stress or ammonia burns.
Has the tank got a fast flow around it so its hard for him to swim? What other fish are in the tank?

my dwarf gourami did this too. Before i had any idea about what fish were compatible with others i used to have a convict cichlid, and i picked on the gourami everytime it left his little spot in the corner. it also bit his feelers of. i gave the cichlid back too the petshop and also did a water change and he's been happy as larry since, and his feelers are growing back. so maybe if you have an aggressive fish?
