hey, this is one for the plant freaks on this board :p

could i add sparkling buxton mineral water to my tank to add some Co2 to it?
or would it be harmful to the fish?

thanks

big G.

would be dangerous because of the chlorine this mineral water will contain. maybe if you add some water conditioner it will make it safe. i'm no expert so to be on the safe side i wouldn't.

it's Buxton Spring Water

spring water never contains any chlorine :)

But it contains minerals i wouldn't risk it.

it has loads of minerals in it anyway why go to the expense of pouring Buxton spring water in at £1.50 a bottle save the dosh and go C02 :/

Most carbonated waters contain phosphoric acid, spring water however will be very hard and should only be done with hard water plants, also don't add to much because it will be a burst of supersaturated CO2 which could kill your fish and would certainly shock the hell out of them with the pH drop. your really much better off with a DIY CO2 injector.
