Fixing fake plants

I recently bought this fake plant to put in my tank, however it would be much better if the stems draped as it would provide more hiding spaces for the fish. Now it drapes out of the water but not in. Ive tried fishing line, sticking taping it but neither have worked.

Is there a way to get these stems to drape while in the water?

Get real plants! loads better and they help with getting rid of nitrates in the water

Yes, look into java moss or java fern. They grow in just about any lighting condition...
