I got 2 of one type of danio at my lfs. I also got 1 of another type.

The two of the same type are quite happy, they are swiming about the tank together and getting on fine.

The one is hiding. He's behind the bogwood/plant and isnt happy. Well either that he's shy. He does come out now and then.


Have I made a mistake and should have bought 4? 2 of each type? Or will he be ok on his own? Im maybe being stupid.

What types did you get? Zebra and Leopard Danios should mix together fine but ideally you would have gotten 6 or more of the same type as they are schooling fish and prefer to be in groups. They are also fairly active fish so a tank at least 2 feet long is preferred as well.

Got 2 pearl & 1 Kerri

I'm sorry please can you explain, I've never heard of a Kerri? You really need a shoal of danios, or they will be very unhapyp and not last long.

mmm if you only have 2 of the 1 type it will cause problems.Danios chance each other perm...if you only have 2 its likely they dontget a break and will develope problems.Get atleas 3 of each and you should be fine.But as Brittlestart said teh more the better.
