Hi all,

I'm new to this all, but am really excited about getting involved, didn't expect that keeping fish is such and interesting and complex thing!!
Anyway,
I have a 112ltr Tank, a heater and a internal filter also a air pump which is currently pumping through 2 air stones...
Its been 4 nights now since I first got the tank up and running... I followed all instructions regarding planting the plants and adding the water which I dechlorinated!

On the second night... I noticed after turning the lights out that the water was looking cloudy/milky, panicked I went online watching various videos regarding such situations... most, said that it was the start of the ''Nitrogen Cycle'' already!! Fantastic I thought.. but this morning when I got up.. the water was and still is just about crystal clear!
So here are a few questions:
I have a bottle that is supposed to speed the process up with regards to ammonium, Nitrates and Nitrites in the water... ( I've read loads of forums of how the Cycle works) do I add the dosage to the water everyday?
Shall I add a pinch of flaked fish food everyday, again.. read its supposed to speed the process up?
How long should I leave the tanks lights on?
When should I make the first water change?

I'm about to test the water... so will sign in again tomorrow again!

Thanks in advance...!

First thing you should buy is a API test kit. From there you can work out your water stats.

These bottles that suggest they "speed up" the cycle aren't true. Sadly you'd be better off with a bottle of pure ammonia or the classic fish food to tank. You could follow what the bottle says and get a kick start but it will not cycle your tank in 3 days as some state :p

if you can find someone in your area who could donate some mature media it would help speed up the cycle
