Guys were doing a fishless cycle or another tank in the house, it has been cycling for 10days and had no change in ammonia still 4ppm, is this normal

What kind of ammonia are you using?

What is the pH of the tank?

What kind of test kit are you using?

Have you been adding a water conditioner?

This may sound stupid, but do you have a filter? Some people make this mistake and don't have a filter and wonder why nothing is happening?

It may take longer for ammonia to have it's first initial drop. Some of my tanks took 20 days for the initial drop.

Kleen-Off ammonia

ph is about 6 i think

API liquid test kit

Water conditionar added when filled the tank

Filter is Rena xp3

I believe that ammonia is good. Is it possible to list the ingredients?

Your pH is pretty low in the tank. Do you know what you tap water pH is?

Also, what is the temp in your tank?

Temp is 28

and i am not sure on the PH

also on the mmonia bttle it just has pure ammonia.

Okay, well the pH in the tank is too low, and this for sure is hindering the cycling process.

First, I would see if your tap water's pH is higher, if so do at least a 50% water change to raise the pH for now.

Also, you are still fairly early in the cycling process, so it may take a little longer for your ammonia to start to drop.

whats the different between high or low PH? ON THE API KIT

8-8.2PPM ON HIGH PH.

AND OFF THE SCALE ON LOW PH SO I TAKE IT AM ACTUAL HIGH PH SO EARLIER 6 WAS WRONG SORRY FOR THAT

Nothing, at least that is what I have found out.

I assume that there must be a different chemical used to measure a lower pH then a higher pH. So, they had different bottles.

Well low ph is off the scale.

and high ph is acually 8-8.2ppm

sorry tank
Okay, well...

Your pH is near perfect for the bacteria to grow.
You have a water conditioner in the tank, so that is good.
Your ammonia is pure ammonia, which means there are no other additives besides water.
Your temperature is good. 29C would be more ideal.

It seems to me that you just need to wait.

Your ammonia should start to drop within the next week for sure.

oh good thanks for answering my questions

so do i wait for it to drop to 0 or 1 before adding ammonia again?

Yup, right around there.

Make sure you add the ammonia only at the 24 hour mark though!
