Just had a browse through YouTube and saw this video, Fish tank painting, only four inches thick. Not exactly comfortable, more like a gadget than a fishkeeping... Check it out. Just one question, how the hell are you supposed to gravel vac that when its on the wall!

Picture Tank

i hate those things, they give no room at all for the fish. the people that get those get them, as you say, as a fashion thing. they give no thought to the welfare of the fish at all. Can you imagine living your life in a world that was only 2-3 times as wide as you? you'd barely be able to turn!

I think it is okay, but not for the fish they put in it. Maybe a betta, or a few guppies. But what i am wondering is, how do u gravel vac to keep the nitrates, ammonia, and nitrites down? Chemicals cant fix everything.

They're a pretty cool idea, I'd love to have one in my house but...and a big but!!...It would only and could only have small fish in it, the fish they have in it are a crazy choice!! Tiger barbs in a small tank...emmmm...could get interesting!

they look good, but i don't like them personally.

they have one of them in my local... it would be ok for a betta or sumthing i guess, however having it high on the wall would b a nightmare.
i agree that barbs in that thing is ridiculous...

Appart from the welfare side of it, think of the practical side. You potentially get water dripping down your wall when you do any maintenance damaging paint/wall paper. Re-filling after a water change would be a nightmare. Getting out sick fish if needed would probably be more stressful for them (and you), as you'd probably need to be up a ladder...

Impractical and unhealthy! Now, if it was set into the wall and deeper it might be a different matter... Still impractical though.

With proper knowledge of fishkeeping and some DIY ideas that could very well work. Just make sure that you get fish that get no bigger then 1 1/2 inches long.

I think it is quite fancy. Why put pictures of your ugly self and relatives on the wall when you could have a living picture frame hanging on your wall. Of couse I only recommend this to experienced fishkeepers. And small, low waste fish.
