i heard that in the wild the are small fish that will feed off the dirt from the bigger fish can i purchase these kinds of fish from the lfs and if so how much are they

fish in the wild would eat poop if other food is not available, but even then they'd be still eating a varied diet of other things.
in the tank, that won't work.

all fish need fish food, they can't live on poop. they won't get the nutrients they need to survive.

There are no fish that i know of that will do that. Cories will eat food missed by the other fish, but u still have to feed them sinking pellets. And usually small fish and big fish don't go together very well in the home aquarium.

I believe some plecs can incorporate poo as a small part of their diet, but then they are huge waste producers themselves and need to be fed other things too, so they are not going to get you out of the tank cleaning. The only animal known to science as a 100% reliable, non waste-producing cleaner is a gravel vac! Can be had for about 3 pounds at all lfs, lovely little creature, never gives any trouble. :p
