I have a rainbowfish which has a wound on its side, fairly substantial with what looks like fungus growing out of it. I haven't seen any other fish attack it which seems a bit odd. Any ideas on what I should do? I don't currently have a secondary tank. Other tank mates are rainbowfish, plec, harlequins, zebra loaches. Only possible explanation is one of the bigger Red Rainbowfish.

Tank has been going a while, dosing EasyCarbo right now.

Currently shows no behavioral symptoms.

It's fairly common to get fungus as a secondary infection on a wound. You'll need to keep your water in tip top condition and use a med for the fungus.

Any advice on which meds? Also do you recommend more regular but smaller water changes for the water?

I've never had to treat fungus (crosses fingers), so can't really advise on a specific med.

How often and how much water are you changing atm? As a guide,I do 50% weekly on my tanks.
