I saw some stuff on EBay called 'Fish Waste Treatment #8' the advert says quote "Aquarium Safe is an advanced product which consumes fish waste, decreases sedimentation, removes pollution, reduces the need for cleaning and keeps the aquariums sparkling clean."

The container treats 450 liters / 100 gallons.

Why would you need this if your filter does the samething?

It sounds like some sort of bacteria similar to those kick start your filter ones that shops sell, but honestly nothing really prevents having proper filteration and carrying out regular tank maintance.
I have recently added another type of sponge filter to my tanks/ filters as any extra scrubber of the water and it has made an amazing difference even on tanks that previously looked nice and clear.
I do know of another product that you can get that makes all the sediment and floating particles clump together, but I have seen this stuff nearly sufficate fish because it will also coat their gills.

I didn't say I was using it I was just highlighting it wondering if anyone had used it or your thoughts on it.

I'd get a gravel vac and some free time, sorted!

I am guessing not many people have used it, or if they have haven't seen your post yet. Personally I think its a gimmick to get people to spend more than necessary on their tanks.

I was thinking the same Baccus, but looking at it from another point of view how many posts do we read where someone asks what they can get to get rid of the waste, and the stock answer is: 'Nothing will eat the fish waste, you will have to gravel/sand vac it out'
One day though they will invent something that will do the trick.

What puzzles me with this stuff is, let's say it does 'Consume' the fish waste, where does it consume it to and after it consumes it what is the end product, what happens to it?

Might break it down to more base componants that plants could more easily utilise

, but science teaches us that nothing is ever lost its compostition has just been changed. Like when we boil water and make steam, techniqually the water has not been lost if you trap the steam and allow it to cool you have water again.

The consume part also gets me, I know there is a chemical that plumbers use to unblock clogged toilets of paper, it basically disolves the paper into a mush so that it can be flushed.
