I have a 125 gallon tank with a florida gar, Oscar, and albino channel catfish. The fish are massive. Well today i take a look at the tank.. The catfish is sitting on the floor as is the oscar. This is not unusual for the oscar but the catfish is always moving. I tried to get them moving again with some food. Neither of them had a bite to eat. I feed them cichlid pellets, they eat feeders when i feed the gar. Upon closer inspection under the cat's side fin it appears to be bleeding but its not bleeding. Its a red irritation almost like a blister. The gar looks to be shedding his skin its most likely a fungus but not patchy its sparatic unlike any others i have seen. The gar eats only feeders. I dont know what to do and have not run any tests.. From the symptoms listed would anyone be able to tell me whats wrong.

without any water parameters
I'm thinking you have the start of a systemic bacterial infection
proberbly introduced by one of the "feeders"

unfortunatly the prognosis for SBI is around 80% mortality.

you first course of action should be a 50% water change
followed by a few 20% ones over the comming days.

I will have the water parameters soon. I am going to the pet store today to find out if i can do much else. Thanks.

I would recommend a water change like wolf mentioned, need to get water stats done quick as well, can you issolate the fish, it does sound bacterial, i would try and get a med like tetracycline if you can issolate, if not maracyn one and two.
