I am planning a visit to BAS in bolton as well as a few other shops in the near future when I visit from North of the border. I was wondering if how BAS was these days. Does anyone use it regulary, whats it like these days as its been a while since I Was there.

Thanks for any info

Hi Loader.

I have visited BAS quite a few times recently, they still appear to be the same as when i first went many years ago although i must confess that the overall look of the building was somewhat shoddy.

The fish looked mostly healthy from what i saw but at the time i last went, around the middle of december they had no plants, something to do with changing their suppliers. That might have changed now i dont know.

Another good LFS is in Wigan called Pier Aquatics,a bit awkward to locate if you dont know the area but worth a visit. You can always use Google maps for a more detailed map.

Good luck and let us know how you went on.

Dave.

Thanks Dave
I have been to pier Aquatics before, not a bad shop at all. When I went it must have been the wrong time of the week as there were a lot of tanks that didnt have a lot of fish in them. But the quality of what was there was excellent.

Thanks again

Hi Loader.

What other LFS have you been thats worth a mention in the north west mate.
I have just set up a new 260l tank and i have been looking for new places to visit.

I went to a new one in Leyland on saturday called Aquahome and the bloody place was shut.Holidays......bah,humbug.

Keep us posted.

Dave.

hi Dave
I havent really been in any others that far down but North lakes in penrith is excellent if you are after stuff from africa. The quality of fish are superb. There used to be a fish shop in Stockport cant remember the name but that was excellent as well.

Not sure were this is located but what about Wharf Aquatics never been but have heard nothing but good things about it.

I take it guppies are your thing Dave what strains do you keep?

Nah,the Guppy is just a name i chose.I dont really have a speciality as i have said previously i have only just come back to fish and am starting from afresh.

I have heard good things about Wharf Aquatics too but i think it may be a tad too far from me at this moment in time.

Dave.
