Hi
I have a 30 litre biorb. I did a fishless cycle of 8 weeks and added 5 cardinal tetras yesterday. The water is 25 degrees and I would like to know what fish I can add with the tetras. I quite like the Discus fish. I would like to add as many different species that are colourful and would all live in harmony together! Any ideas would be apprecitiated.

if it was me i would add maybe 3 corydoras (bronze, albino and a pepper 1) OR some Glow lights they r quite nice OR some guppies like 3 different colour males (or mixture of male to 2 female) BUT warn u they will breed every month......lol

:D welcome to the world of fishkeeping!!!!!

Thanks for the help. No offence taken! I saw a discus in my local FKS I have since read about them and now realise it was a stupid idea. I will let you know how i get on!

dont biorbs have some kind of special substrate that's unsuitable for cories?

i would add a couple of cherry barbs, a couple of (male!!) guppies, or a dwarf gourami.

imo, that tank is too small for cories, pretty much just guppies should live in there

discus hahaha

You could get a couple of (male) platies OR 3-4 dwarf/pygmy cories (they don't spend their time on the bottom so substrate won't be as much an issue) OR a couple of honey (not dwarf) gouramies OR 3 (male) guppies OR a betta OR 4 black phantom tetras OR 4 harlequin rasboras OR 4 golden dwarf barbs... Anything small, and peaceful that won't get over 2" and don't get more than 4 of them. :)

why not dwarfs, sylvia? im not criticising i just want to know why, so i dont recommend them in the future

I was thinking about getting a 60 litre bi-orb with the fancy LED lighting to go on my desk. It would look smart in silver. A larger tank I have another space for but I dont want to attempt that task till the summer.....
