Fish that eat lily pads

I saw these fish in a large pond in a park in Sabah, Malaysia. I don’t think they are carp or native to the island. Anyone knows what they are? The lily pads are at least 200mm or 8” in diameter so they are big fish.

It looks like a variety of grass carp Ctenopharyngodon idella. It could also just be nipping on leaf damage caused by a turtle.
