i have a red eye tetra that i'm afraid has TB.the tank is a 20 gallon with 4 serpae tetras, 4 red eyes and a BN pleco. a few days ago i noticed that one of my red eyes caudal fin was curving slightly to the right, upon closer inspection i relised that its spine apeared to be curved that that way.its still eating well and is able to swim fine but i know somethings wrong. is this TB?

Touchy subject for me, Ive had fish that seem to have a bit of curvature in the spine and i worried about it for a long time but it wasnt TB, is there any other fish showing symptoms? If youv'e got a quarintine tank, put the fish in and observe!

piscine TB is very very rare in the home aquarium,
unless you a feeding a diet that is mostly live Tubifex tubifex
I doubt your fish has piscine TB.

the most likely cause of a bent spine is
a congenital deformity caused by inbreeding
b poor diet
c internal parasites (again highly unlikely)

no other fish are showing any symptoms at all. i feed them frozen bloodworms, frozen brine shrimp, vegetable pellets, freeze dried tibfex worms, and flakes so i don't think diet has anything to do with it but i could try a vitamin supplement to be sure.
