Is it ok for a fish tank to get just a little bit of sunlight? I have my 240 litre in the living room and now that we are coming into the summer months the sun is staying higher and it get a little corner of the tank for about an hour or so.

I'm up the North Of Scotland so its not going to get this everyday... LOL

But will this be ok or will even this little bit of sunlight cause alge problems?

Sorry for all the topics I'm posting but everything coming up at once just now...

You will probably find you get a bit of algae growing on the glass in that spot, but it won't affect the whole tank and shouldn't be a problem

Don't apologise; it's what we're here for!

Ditto FM some of my tanks get direct sunlight and have done for years, apart from a bit of brown algae now and again its never been a problem. Brown algae wipes off easily with a sponge. :)

could always place a pot plant in the light to give tank a shadow?
