I noticed one of my tanks started slowly leaking after removing fish and substrate I found a very large crack on the base of fish tank , I didn't have a piece of glass to cover the whole inside of base so I made do with a piece of glass that is large enough cover the crack, this two foot tank is more than 30 years old so after placing glass over crack I decided to reseal over corners and removed loose brace and reglued , it's the first time that I have used HA6 silicone recommended for the use in aquariums in 24 hours this old tank will be back up and running

That's a tough crack to seal. In a 30 year old tank, it may not work. I wouldn't fill it in an apartment tor over expensive flooring.

I've fixed a lot of cracks, with about a 50% success rate after 3 months. Back and side glass cracks aren't really an issue in smaller tanks (20 gallon and under) but I haven't won a lot of battles with bottom glass.

I would also look to see what caused the tank to crack. Very likely it will recur unless that issue is resolved.

the fish tank is up and running cause of crack tank sitting on a slight uneven surface , i have a number of tanks with cracks and some with cracks on sides I repair them all in the same way i have also taking a number 3 ft tanks apart two shorten them I've never had any problem after repair although some a bit on the tati side, because the tanks in my fish room are put on racking long ways in it's barely noticeable

As a rimless tank it should be on a matt and that should help with any uneveness of surface but there are degrees here. I had one aqueon aquarium that did a similar thing and it was repalced by the store under warranty but of course they didn't cover the $20,000 damage to the wood flooring so as mentioned above you should take that into consideration.

The aquarium look quite small (which means less weight) so it is a bit perplexing but i guess glass also flows a bit over 30 years. Anyway no comment on the fix causing a large leak later... just make sure the floor et all can handle the water... or your insurance is up to date.
