hey guys! I'm quite new to fish keeping but am trying my best with learning everything
I have a 65 litre tank (more like 60litres with the water displacement from the things I have in there) It is heavily planted, has CO2 setup, been cycling for 2 months (during which there was a bacterial bloom) and currently contains an apple snail and 8 rummy nose tetra (which I am surprised are doing so well as I consider my tank relatively new)
The water is changed weekly with about a 20% water change(I sometimes change water twice a week due to overgrown plants, bits of plants decaying and I'm still trying to get used to not overfeeding) The water parameters are okay with my Nitrates ranging from 0.5 - 2 each week (should they be this low??) and my nitrites at 0 and ammonia is 0 with it sometimes spiking to 0.25 near the end of the week just before water changes.
I'm currently undecided on what else to stock in my tank as I am worried about overstocking. I really love Siamese fighting fish, so I had been considering a male SFF along with a couple of cherry shrimp (provided the Betta gets along with them) or I was also considering a smaller shoal of Neon Tetra (about 6) with cherry shrimp, but then I feel this would be overstocking it a bit much?? according to ##150### I can have both the 6 neons, 3 cherrys, my 8 rummynose, my apple snail and a male betta in there and my tank is still at 92% stocking level?!?! (this seems WAY overstocked to me!!)
Just need some realistic advice about stocking and what I can have in my tank. My tank is 50cm wide, and 34 cm deep with a fluval U2 internal filter (not sure if that is too powerful for a male betta?)
