Fish Stock List?

I am turning my 30 gallon tank into a heavilly planted tank. I am looking for a few fish to put into my tank that have a lot of personality and stay small. I am really leaning towards a group of dwarf freshwater puffers. I am thinking of 2 males with 2-3 females per male. Also I would put some octos in with them to take care of the algie.
Any ideas will be helpfull. Give me the stocklist of your planted tanks. I really want this to be a show quaility tank. Thanks

My final stocklist once completed will be:
6 Ottos
4 Pitbull Plecs
15-20 Neon Tetra (love to see them school around properly)
15-20 Shrimp (not sure which kind yet)
