i've been trying to figure this out, but still haven't figured it out yet. i have a 20g tank and a 35g tank. my baby fish if my 20g are growing faster the the baby fish in the 35g does anybody no y. 35g- 36"x18"x12". 20g- 24"x15"x12". can someone please tell me why they are growing faster inthe smaller tank

perhaps the fry in the larger tank juts arnt getting to the food because of the large area its spread out in -_- i dont know thats just a guess. i dont rely c any real reason behind it thogh -_-

Fry grow faster in smaller tanks because of food and being lazy. They can eat more cause they can find it. Also they swim less so the food can be used more for growing and less for life. But temp, light, times of food, and water changes can be a huge factor in growth rate.

So basically you're saying that they're the aquatic equivalent of couch potatoes?

I guess that is one way to look at it kitty. I mean I could write a book here on why this happens but I was looking for the simple way to say it.

i also for got to mention that i have some fish in a 10g tank and they aren't growing as fast as the fish in the 20g
