Ok folks, its not very often I get stumpped with illnesses.
I dont get many problems and when I do a quick search on here normally answers any questions I have...

However, Mr Cherry Barb has a problem, and Mrs Cherry barb is ignoring him :(

He seems to have lots the ability to float... Swim bladder I'm guessing but dont they get stuck at the top with those problems??

Anyway - water stats are fine (350l Am,Ni,Na,PH - 0,0,30,7.6) everyone else is fine - He even looks fine!
Good colour, and still eating. He just thinks he's a cory

We've had them for about 3 years and once we ended up with a pair they have lived happily ever after. I'm thinking old age might be a factor...

I've taken a video of him to show his behaviour.

Any ideas?

Sadly it looks like swim bladder, what do you feed the fish, onced it has progressed that it, you could try some shelled peas.

They all get a varied diet - flake, bloodworm, veg, daphnia, tetra prima, carnivour tabs... all sorts.

Am I right in thinking there is not a lot that can be done for swimbladder problem?

It depends on how far it has progressed, i had a fancy goldfish with swim bladder kept her on a good varied diet, had her two years with it then she died, she already had swim bladder when bought.
I would try peas, plus there is a swimbladder med but i wouldn't hold much hope with it, good luck.

Fed the tank with 'minced' peas tonight ;)

he ate well too - Hope it works and releaves a bit of preasure...

Bless him, try them again tomorrow as well, good luck.

theres a few meds around for swimbladder infection but i cant say ive tried any of them so dont know how effective they would be. but may be worth a go although you would have to move your fish into another tank to treat.
good luck
