I don't think I can save the fish in our Q/H tank but I want to know what's going on with them.
Currently in the tank are 2 male guppies and 2 danios.

It started yesterday when I got up and noticed that the danios were hiding inside of the cave and the guppies were hanging out at the top more so than usual.

So I did a 90% water change. I then put in half a tablet of Jungle Fungus remover since it's supposed to help with fungus and bacteria.
The fish perked up later on, but not much. They ate a little bit but I could tell they didn't have their usual energy. They all looked physically fine though. No marks, no nothing.

Then I wake up today... one danio is dead, and the rest of the fish are hanging at the top, very lethargic with white spots all over them.
I can't tell if the white spots are debris that they just don't have the energy to get off of themselves or if it's a disease.
The water has always been very well aerated and heated.

After another water change...I put in Maracyn 1 & 2 and a dose of Coppersafe.
It looks like they're too far gone though, the remaining danio is very still rapid gill movement and mouth movement.... and one of the guppies is having a hard time keeping itself from going bellyup.

No the tank isn't cycled (b/c the meds end up killing whatever bacteria has built up anyway).. which is why I do 80% water changes out of it every other day.
The day before I noticed anything, I did a water change as usual and took out 2 of the fish to put them back into the main tank (a cory and a blue danio... they're perfectly fine though).
I'd just like to know what is causing this so I'll know how to treat it properly if (god forbid) this happens again.

Update: The other danio died... guppies are still alive, but one of them is in pretty bad shape.

Another update: One of the guppies has died. I went into the kitchen to check on the fish and it was belly up but still breathing. I couldn't stand watching it suffer like that so I euthanized it... I never want to do that again..........

Sounds like they have whitespot if there sprinkled in salt.
Added to many meds.
Have you increased aeration in the tank, and raised temp.
R.I.P.

Not white spot... Doesn't look like salt on them, it's just like white blotches of stuff. Looks almost like fungus. Sorta fuzzy and all over.

Sounds like columnaris then does it go along the back and down the sides of the fish.

No, it's just on them in random places which is why I thought it might've just been debris or something.
It was on their eyes, fins, and on one guppy on it's mouth. You can see the stuff on their fins almost coming off if they just had enough energy to swim rapidly to get it off.
I put the remaining guppy into a cup with some water from another tank. It's not doing much better but alot of the white stuff whatever it is must've rubbed off during the transfer.

You say they had white on there eyes, did that seem like Pop Eye at all or did their eyes seem cloudy?
Maybe try treatment of pimafix, as that is an anti-fungal treatment. Also try feeding peas, be sure to give some aeration too.

*However it does seem like to many meds were used in such a short period. I understand why you did that though. I've done the same thing my self.

Can get columnaris on eye, mouth and fins, if its fluffy it colunmaris.

Bleh.... I wonder why it showed up so quickly when they were all so active and totally normal before.

If the last guppy dies... what should I do to sterlize everything.

Need maracyn one and two for columnaris.
If you have oher tanks just keep the tank nets and equipment sterlised.

Well I've already put in maracyn 1 & 2 earlier today. I just hope it's not too late for the remaining fish although it doesn't seem to be improving any.

Thanks anyways for the info!

Do you think gnats getting into the filter and dieing would cause the fish to get sick?
B/c I just looked at the filter and it's spotted with little dead gnat corpes.

I could try to get a pic but it wouldn't show anything.

Yes if the body of the fish was decomposing in the tank filter.
You have bacteria in a tank that why you have to keep up with regular water changes to keep the bacteria in the background.

No no... it wasn't a fish.. it's little bugs.
And I've been doing very regular water changes as I pointed out in my first post.
The remaining guppy is in a tupperware container with some of the water from our 28gal now along with an airstone.
It's not going to make it, but it's as comfy as I could make it for its time left.

Update: The last guppy died. It was struggling to stay alive and I tryed all that I could. Making sure the water stayed warm. Putting a tablet of tetracycline in with it, resting the gup in a net so it wouldn't be swirled all around by the airstone, etc etc. It finally succumbed to the illness :(

RIP guppies and danios..... sigh.....
