Hiya everyone,
Bought a new 48L tank yesterday, started cycling. I have added all the bacteria stuff etc etc.

Been researching what may be the best fish for this sized tank and wondered what people think about this combo:

5-6 Neon Tetras
2 Guppies (Not sure exactly what ones yet)
1 Red finned Shark

Will this be too much for the tank? If not, what order should i put them in. I was thinking of getting the tetras first to establish the tank, then get the guppies and shark?

I know im probably being impatient but i have also been having trouble with cloudiness in the water. I only filled it up yesterday, and it is improving so hoping the water will clear pretty soon. I have added some filter aid in the water to clump the particles and allow better filtration.

Grateful for any advice or tips? Looking forward to making my first purchase and getting my first aquarium set up.

TIA

you will need to do a fishless cycle befor you can add fish which will take about a month

rtbs (red tail black shark) is not suitable for a tank this small am affraid need a 90l i think

the cloudyness is to do with the stones and will settle within 2-3 days

why not try a group of guppies and a group of tetra's and maybe a pleco or a couple of cories

Sound advice. Thanks. Yeah gonna run it for a month then take it from there. Was thinking a group of guppies/tetras but also want a couple of slightly larger fish. Or maybe one slightly larger fish....any suggestions???

not really many big fish you can put in their to be fair

a pair of kribensis could be a nice addition

Cory cats dont grow 2 big, if u have good water quality though they can live 4 five years!

try salt and pepper cories they tend to stay smaller and are very active and can be more intresting than a center fish

you do need to have them in groups for them to be active

Thanks everyone, 2 corys it is!! With regards to the neon tetra and guppies how many of each would be a good amount (with regards to tank space). Was thinking of 6 tetra and 3 guppies?

Any thoughts or advice?

TIA

They should be kept in groups of 6 or more because in a smaller group, they may be shy and inactive and become stressed hence y i said go for the smaler ones like pygmy's

killifish are nice

as are endlers

other tetra's are available in all sorts of colours

harlequins rasboras
