Fish Reccomendations For Highr Ph Water Chem

Just looking for some more ideas for my tank. The only drawback is my tap water is pretty high up on the ph scale at around 8-8.2
Can most fish adapt to a higher ph? I would include my dh, and other specifics, but my new test kit is in the mail, should be here on Friday

So basically just any fish you can recommend for a some what higher ph/dissolved mineral count.
Not looking for any rift lake cichlids....

Livebearers generally like the higher pH levels and harder water, so you'd be fine there.

Other than that, most softwater fish can work at higher pH levels, if acclimatised properly.

Most fish will adapt to your params as long as they are acclimated properly. Although do bear in mind that some species do require a specific ph to breed.

Good to know! Thanks! If my lfs gets some African knife fish in today i was going to go pick one up along with a 5 gallon bucket. They said their water is about the same ph so maybe acclimate for about 1 hour with drip acclimation?

just trying to think of a bottom dweller that would work mostly (in addition to the AKF). Ps its a 65 gallon tank in case your wondering.

Not exactly looking to breed, just to watch thrive in a nice clean habitat!

Most if not all Synodontis cats will aclimate to your water no problem. I have to say, that my pH is around 8 in all my tanks and I have angels, tetras, danios, etc and they are all doing fine. If I want to breed them I'll have to make use of ro water, but for day to day, they're fine with what I have.

You have perfect water for an African Cichlid tank. A lot of people try really hard to get their ph up that high... make use of it!
