should be fine, but wait 6 months before adding the cardinal tetras as they are sensitive fish which will prefer a mature tank with stable water conditions

If you want a bottom feeder you could get otos, bns, cories or khuli loaches.

you dont need to adjust the PH

dont fiddle with it as it will cause more trouble than its worth
