I'm a week and half into a fish less cycle. Over the last day and a half my ammonia levels have been dropping from a dosage of 3ppm to close to zero in less than a 10 hour period. The initial ammonia dose was at 5 ppm but have reduced it to 3ppm after it dropped the first time. My Nitrites are well over the max and have shown no drop, so I assume I'm close to being done.
My problem is - I have one more day before I may have to leave town for 4 days without anyone to come in and add ammonia. Will my tank be ok while I'm gone if left with a 0 ammonia count over that period ? Or will I have to start the cycle over when I return ? Its a 6 gal tank - heated to 82 degrees with 5 or 6 small plants. The water is crystal clear and has been since two days after starting the cycle.
Thanks

It should be fine, although you may go into a mini- cycle and it'll take longer. Also we've got a similar username.....

Thanks for the help. I assume all I have to do is start adding ammonia at the 3 ppm dosage when I get home ?
Similar names indeed. At least its one I can remember. Cant say that for all my other sign ins.
Thanks again.
