Hi Everyone,

I have a huge emergency

I just noticed today that my BETTA FISH's gill is swolen like bad and its very white.... I tried taking him out of his tank and letting him sit in some MELAFIX thinking that would help him.

The whole gill is very swollen like bad and I mean hes swimming some but not much and hes not eating at all.

He is still puffing up at me he tried to while ago he only used his good one and he isnt using the one that is hurting him. while he sat overnight in MELAFIX

I washed his whole tank out with HOT WATER I washed the gravel and the plants and the little ceramic car and the little rock, filter pipe the blue filter.. my mother said the filter should be good even though we bought it in march bc the little blue filter shouldnt go bad for just 1 fish

and when I was done, I put the tank back together and then filled it back up and let it run after I put my stuff in it to make the water right.

I went to bed and got up the next day and added 1 tsp of MELAFIX to his tank. now its very swollen and I am worried What do I need to do.

Also below is a picture. as you see theres that white spot on the side of his head

and light on top

Just to let you know

Here is another picture I JUST NOW took

notice that gill is all pineconed out and its swollen

also.. I noticed the cut looks like its gotten smuch smaller

it actually looks like a cut on the side of the head bc theres nothing there where the white spot it..... it just flesh

Does the rest of his body look swollen at all? When looking down at him, are his scales sticking out?
He may have just injured the gill and it's now infected, I would try maracyn 1 & 2 and also add in some dissolved epsom salt to his water. 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons so for 10gal... 2 teaspoons :)

Really hope the lil guy gets better.
