Fish Indexes

Obviously there are lots of different types of fish out there.

I would like to be able to start to be able to identfy fish and just know where to look for info on a specific type, as well as browsing.

So been doing lots of looking on the world wide interweb, books and so on. Have come across lots of interesting websites, and some (reasonable) books, but nothing that in my mind is definitive.

Just wondered what people thought were the best resources for fish - with regard to info about specific species.
Something like the RSPB Book of British Birds, but for fish.

I would like to buy a good book, if anyone could reccomend one.......

I have found a lot of information in my local library. You can order books if they don't have many and then you can pick the best to purchase for yourself. I just keep getting the books out all the time then I don't have to buy any. These web sites are really usefull as well as questions can be answered by alot of people who have had similar experiences.
