So our tank has ran a full week without ammonia. I've been told that our tank is now fully cycled.
We now want to add a couple more fish today. We are thinking of 5 neons and a dwarf or honey gourami, would the gourami be suitable with our fish? Our current stocking levels are in my SIG.

I am just really pleased that we didn't lose any fish with the fish in cycle. Dedicated hard work through lots of WC's in the beginning but we have got there.

if you only have a 95L/25gallon tank i would say that with your current stock
6 platys
3 neon tetras
1 molly.
i would only add either 3 more neons or a gourami. IMO
the dwarf will get to 2 inches, and a honey around 6 inches.

So I got my dwarf gourami today and right away my dalmation Mollie has been swimming under it pushing it upwards, its been nosing its side. This is what it did to my silver Mollie till my silver one died. Why does it act like this?

When your cycle has complete, how often do you check the water for ammonia? Is it once a week?
Also, once you add new fish how long after adding the fish should you keep checking your water??

Check for the next 2 -3 days. if you see a low level of ammonia, try and ride it out. Watch the fish for signs of distress.

Remember, in a cycled tank hen you add ammonia in the form of more fish, the tie it takes for the bacteria to get ahead of things is a whole heck of a lot shorter than in the initial cycling. As long as you don't try to introduce too much at one time most tanks will adapt just fine fairly fast.

Mollies can be agressive like that, I found certain individuals to be quite nasty. When I had them, the aggression was kept within species, but yours doesn't have that luxury. Not a lot you can do about it.
