Fish Identification

I'm certain it's a swamp killie. It's not a flying fox or anything like that.

The picture's not amazing, but it should be good enough for you tropical fish buffs ;)

The gouramis are c. lalia, the dwarf gourami. There are two. One of them hides all the time.

The big pangasius cat has been in my tank for a few years now, and has never eaten any of my fish, from baby neons to baby guppies. He prefers to hide. So I don't think he (who my sister named Bullseye) is a danger to the killies. Oh, and the pangasius cats are priority to me. If I get rid of anything, it'd be the killies :D

As far as temp, Axelrod's book says the swamp killies can be fine up to 24 C, so that's what the tank is at. I just hope they aren't stressed, and that they'll eat the frozen brine shrimp and flake food.

It's true that 24 deg C is ok for them but they are normaly found at slightly lower temps. They should be fine there though. The dwarf gouramies *could* be a problem simply because the fish are likely to clash in the sense that they'll be competing for the same space in the tank. However, dwarfs are generaly good about not bothering other species and shouldn't eat the killies so that's ok.

I'm still worried about the cats - not so much because they may eat their tankmates - but because they are in a tank much too small for them (or so you have implied by saying that one of your dwarfs is hiding and judging by the size most of your fish remain at).
