Thanks, emeraldking!She's a bumblebee platy...
It's a commercial platy strain...
I actually had her in a community tank. She was getting stressed out because of my swordtail who wouldn't leave her alone, so I moved her to her own six-gallon tank. I would put other fish in there with her but I don't think it is large enough.you might want to get her a friend! they like to school
Oh yeah maybe get another female how many fish?I actually had her in a community tank. She was getting stressed out because of my swordtail who wouldn't leave her alone, so I moved her to her own six-gallon tank. I would put other fish in there with her but I don't think it is large enough.
She is currently the only fish in the six-gallonOh yeah maybe get another female how many fish?
yes totally get another female! they wont harass each other and it will be big enough! make sure to get some more live plants as it will also improve how many fish you can get!She is currently the only fish in the six-gallon
I'm definitely open to getting her a friend but I do have some concerns:yes totally get another female! they wont harass each other and it will be big enough! make sure to get some more live plants as it will also improve how many fish you can get!
just make sure she dosent attack the other fish,a quarantine tank option would just be one little container that is like 2 gallons or more, just cycle it and add new fish in therer. it is hard tho, maybe add a little floating bag to the big tank?I'm definitely open to getting her a friend but I do have some concerns:
1. She is pregnant, so would have another fish in there with her stress her out?
2. I just got rid of some potted plants because they were rotting and polluting the water so I'm kinda scared to try live plants again. I tried them in my ten-gallon a while back and the same thing happened.
3. I don't have a quarantine tank, nor the room to get one in order to make sure the new fish doesn't bring in any diseases.
Here is a picture of the tank:
