Fish ID

Hiya,
My friend has an outdoor pond with Comet goldfish. There were a couple/few little fish in the bag, freebies.
They multiplied like crazy....grey and about the size of WCM Minnows.
I'm going to try to get pictures.
For now, any ideas?
