I have bought a fish earlier and i cant remember the name of it Any help would be appreciated, they were selling it under a common name which i think the first part of it was "red?" if that helps!

How many do u have?
I found that the males will not colour up on their own. you have to have at least 1 female for him to display to.
And sub male look like females and once the alpha male is removed they then colour up.

Just googled it and they are beautiful - never realised they got that colour (had to go earlier so didnt have the chance to look)

I have 2, both coloured silver with black stripes. How do you sex them? Although they might be too young at the moment, they are only about 3" each.

Bad news, the others have literally ripped one of them to shreds Other is ok and only has a light rip on his fin, although i am fearing the worst

I have a slight biofilm on the surface now from the proteins, but water is ok, I couldnt make out if the NO2 was clear or had a pink tinge to it, but still not harmful.

3 x copadichromis borleyi
2 x aulounocara jacobfriebeirgi
1 x pseudotropheus crabbro (only 3" at the moment and will be going back to the shop once bigger)
1 x bristlenose
4 x jewel cichlids
1 x Red Empress
1 x astatotilapia latisifciata - this is the one i think is the main culprit, as the fish were anging around the bak corner where his spot is.

I'd say your fully stocked anyhow. I usually go w/3.5 fish per gallon at the max. Your tank is 47 usg, which would be 13 fish. That will probably make it hard to add any new fish.

ehm hello i think i have one of them fish but a male.

it turns red and blue without any females in the tank, [might not be the same fish].

would that be correct.

yes, they do change colour (although it usually when spawning)
