Yesterday I went to my favorite fish store :D . Jee they have a great range of fish. They sell anemones and coral. Almost any marine fish/creature imaginable, not to forget freshwater fish. They have huge filters and skimmers for each tank, and as a result of this I have never seen 1 sick fish. They might sell a clown fish for $40 and if you sold one to them they would pay you $40 (Australian) They have amazing expertise and huge display tanks with exotic species, and incredible anemones.

When I was there yesterday I saw that they sold freshwater muscles! ;) Apparently they filtrate your water a a treat and make it crystal clear  . They are only $10 (Australian) :D and well sized  . I think I might get one but it would be good if anyone had any information on them. I was thinking of putting one in a spare tank with some pilot fish to see how they go…

OH and what would you need to set up a 10 litre (2 gallon) marine tank (I think I might be daydreaming here)

hey henry

where in australia is this great shop??
the muscles sound good i want to make a little setup for my 20 litre too :D

A 2 gallon tank is tiny for a marine tank! so i would advise against it, to set it up, you would need all the usual equipment needed in a larger tank.

I'm also wondering where in Aus you are. if your around my area, i might check them out :)

I'm in Canberra the store is located in fyshwick and is called fibaquaria B) yeah I dont think i'll make a 2 gal marine tank -_-

All the best

Search google for "nano reef". Two gallon is a bit small for anything but live rock and invertebrates, but if you go a little larger you can get live rock and a single small fish, clown fish are supposed to be good for that. You need to research your butt off first, and understand that a small marine system is going to be really difficult to keep stable. There are some great sites around for nano marine systems that could help you with the specifics.

Well I got the muscle and it's a lot like a pippy, it digs down into the gravel! its pretty cool. And its doing a good job for filtration.

Its good having a comunity in a coldwater tank! :D
