Fish Growth!

Hi just curious when roughly fish are expected to reach their full size, obviously i realise this depends on a number of factors but would be grateful for a rough idea. i have bala sharks , torpedo barbs, parrot fish and silver dollars in 400 litre tank..

Any info appreciated thanks

bala sharks will max out at 16-18" in about 5-10 years.
barbs will max out at 3-4" in 5 years
and parrot fish i have no idea
silver dollars will max at 6" i believe in about 5 years.

growth rate depends on food, water conditions, and the size of the tank.

There is another thread currently active that discusses stunting in fish. There are several factors that effect fish growth. Obviously, one is the breed of fish. Some simply grow faster than others. Other things sould appear to be water conditions and how often and what they are fed. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about either of the species you mentioned to offer an opinion on their growth rate.

Fishbase lists the max size reported as 35cm. I make that 14". I would love to see picture evidence of a bala reaching 16-18".

Yeah, 12 - 14" for Balas.
