hello,

i have a Wild Acara, Red Oscar, Pike Cichlid and 2 Rainbow Cichlids.

can any1 tell me how big these will get?

p.s they are not new fish, ive had the pike for at least 2 years, probs longer :)

I'm not completely sure on actual sizes of all the fish but i do know that an oscar will easily reach 10 inches and often 12 an d above, all the fish you listed are of a very substantial size and have a heavy Bio load, IMO a 74g is only really big enough for the oscar alone, what filter are you running?

Blue Acara (if thats what you mean) average at 6"...some say 8"..but thats like the biggest ever recorded.
Oscar vary between 14-20" depending on space...average at 18" biggest recorded was 24"
Rainbow Cichlids 4-6" average around 4"

the filter is a rena filstar xP3. and the oscar has grown to about 6" ever since i had him. hes a beauty! nd r u sure cuz my tank looks pretty empty with all them in. i dont decorate heavily.

Deffinately sure, with fish of those waste levels temperment and size, i deffinately think you need a bigger tank and 2 large externals, ehime (sp?) do a good range as do tetra tech.

kk, ty, there only young fish nd probs wont get too big in the next few years, there hardy to, theyve survived a deadly ich outbreak, killed a few of ma fish. they r fine now, boy do they get excited at lunch time!

In all honesty it soubds like your ooscar is already stunted, they have been known to double in size in just 2 months or less. Fish are not fine in unchanged water AT ALL, there is no excuse for that, i'm sorry to say it but if you arnt going to take care of these fish properly then i suggest you give them to someone who will.

It's your decision as to wether you take my advise or not but just remember, it is another creatures life you are dealing with, and other living things deserve good care and respect, just as humans do, if you do care for your fish, (and it sounds like you fond of them) then please do the right thing.

ty,

when i and he get older and bigger i will probs sell the wild acara and keep the oscar. ill be goin to uni in a few years anyway....

oh...odd
