fish got stuck in a hole

Hiya

My friend jsut called to say her goldfish got stuck in an ornament and isn't looking well. She's isolated him and put in some sort of general medicine to help him get better. (she phones me cos I am the fish expert....so she thinks anyway!)

I can't do anything for him now because I'm about to go out to work my night shift but I'm going to have a look at him tomorrow. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm gonna lend her a bigger isolation tank and was thinking of putting in some melafix but I don't know whether the melafix would be more or less beneficial that the med that's in there already.

Cat had a problem with a cichlid, I believe, maybe she has ideas (provided she was able to get the cichlid loose ).

I would say maintaining good water quality, a bit of salt, Melafix or other general tonics, and lowering amount of stress shoudl be able to get the goldfish back up to speed.

Has the fish been injured at all? I.e. scales removed, fins damaged, physical damage to the body, etc.

She said it didnt have visible wounds but it was hard to tell cos it's a multicoloured fish
