I have an EHEIM pump, and a brand new (baby) half banded spiny eel. The pump had fallen off from the glass, so I put my hand in there to fix it... And my eel swam inside of it. I panicked a bit, tried to get my eel out, managed to do it and now of course it is extremely stressed and (I think) burrowing.
I'm gonna look inside the pump to see if IT IS dangerous or not but I'm leaning towards buying a simple sponge filter. Is it ok to leave my aquarium with no filter until Monday? Any advice? I'm really scared my fish gets stuck in there or something.

just make mr. pump into a filter

get a piece of sponge and that can make a mini filter when tied to your intake from pump
edit: plus your baby eels wont get stuck anymore because there is a piece of foam blocking it

Thanks, I took out the sponge that was inside the filter and combined it with an oxygen pump from the hole in the sponge (only the plastic tube, the actual engine is on the outside) from my understanding that works just fine, right?
