Hi, my bosemani rainbow fish has got a cut on her side, it is about 2mm across and is red and sticks out a bit aswell. It is kept with community fish and gets on well with the others so my only other thought is that it could of caught itself on something - driftwood???

What i want to know is:

1) will this develop into anything and into what

2) Should i treat it now or later and with what type of medication

Thanks in advance,

Aaron.

What are your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
The cuts does it look red with a circling of white dead tissue around the edges.
How deep is the cut.
Does the cut look clean or infected.
Anything sharp in the tank take it out, if the bogwood sharp sand paper the sharp bits down.
