Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: added some finrot and fungus meds as there was a few nipped tails

Found this symptoms on the net

The Nasty Fungal Infection

Betta has white cottony like patches on its body or head. He may be less active, may have stopped eating, fins may be clumped, color may be pale.

that sounds like it, does it say anything about a cure? i still got 2 bettas in there

just searched it and need meth blue  chucked a bottle a month back cause i hadn't needed it, guess i will have to get some tomorrow and hope for the best with the remaining 2
