I have a 36 Gallon which has 6 Platies and 1 Sucker Fish
I have a 10 gallon which has 4 Platy Fry
The Platies Were in the 10 gallon when they gave birth to 4 of them
I moved them to the 36 gallon.

Now, My fish have been having problems with these Internal Cysts attached to their organs, for quite some time. It makes them look bloated. I have tried E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G to fix this, and nothing helps.
They seem to be doing fine despite this fact, eating normal, swimming fine, the occasional bacteria infection, (white stringy poop) like they have now, but i can handle that.
The Problem is, That i haven't seen anything until now. I noticed some time ago that the adults had a black spec/specs on their anal fin for men, and inside their body for women
Not only that but I saw a black curled up wormy parasite thing inside one of my frys bellys and they ALL have internal Cysts attached to their organs Already! I don't want my Fry to die!
What is this, or these things, and how can i stop them? I just got done Changing 100% of the water, I cleaned out the tank with baking soda, Boiled EVERYTHING in the tank except the sponge to the filter, and put it back.
Also, is it ok to give platy fry Internal parasite fish food by Jungle? They are About 3 weeks old. What should I give them? or do? and what about the adults, i'm sure the babies got it from them.

My stats are:

Temp: 75
Ph:8.0+
Gh: 55 (last time i tested)
Kh: 150 ( last time i tested)
Ammonia: 2ppm (comes with tap water)
nitrates: 2ppm?? (comes with tap water)(not sure)
Nitrites: 0

If you need any other info just tell me.

Btw: this started happening after I bought Anubia's attached to rocks at the fish store, i did nothing, just put them in the tank.
I also have a bad history with neglecting water changes.
I have since move on from that period ^, Change the water Every other day now. at least 33%

Thanks

The white stringy poop is more likely caused by the worms/parasites interfereing with the fishes normal digestive system.
You need medication that is taken internally with the food. Are those worms coming out form the fish?
These look nasty if you are able to see them inside the fish

No they aren't coming out from the fish. Thanks for the White stringy poop info, makes me feel better knowing its not something else i gotta deal with. I have Jungle medicated Parasite fish food. Do you think i could crunch it up and mix with water until its a liquid form and than maybe i could soak the fish in it? Would it still be ingested some how? Could I do this with the babies? They are my main concern mostly. Do you recommend any medication in particular? Do you know what it is?

No, unfortunately I have no idea what it is, but it seems parasitic/worms. Can you post a picture up?
If you use the jungle parasite medicated food, then make the fish eat it. It is for internal treatment, not to soak the fish in. If the fish have no appetite, then squeeze a bit of garlic onto it.
External treatment can't work for internal parasites really for tropical fish, as they don't drink the water unlike marine fish.

I can try to get a picture tomorrow, I'm gonna feed them That until I can find something better, Seems like nematodes, trematodes, it could be black spot, Idk but This covers a lot of stuff, if only I had an external treatment as well. Do you think Aquarium salt could help? so would it have any effect at all if i used external treatment as well?

If you can get Epsom salt is better, maybe in a pharmacy. It's other name is Magnesium sulfate. Dose at 1tpsp per 5 gallons. It shouldn't hurt fish and is beneficial to live plants if you have any.

An external treatment that claims to help with parasites is Seachem Paraguard. It also doesn't hurt the filter media and is safe for fry from what I know.

No problem. I really hope you get rid of this soon. :good:

This article below is very comprehensive on different type of worms and parasites. It's a big long, but it's worth it.
