Ok in my tank to date i have and will carry over into new tank unless i dont like the certain fish :),
Yellow tang
clarkii clown
cleaner shrimp
pink spotted goby
1 sand sifting star
2 green chromos (gettign rid of)
1 most ugly cardinal, due to my mum bought him by mistake lol also getting rid of.
1 dwarf angel.

Ok question is.. for my new 55 gallon (reef)- i know this will be stocked over a long time
wot other tangs could i keep if i got rid of the yellow?
could i have say 4 female anthias?
1 royal gramma
bicolour blennie
six line wrasse
long nose butterfly?

What your thoughts?
cheers

No tang should be kept in 50 gallons. The yellow tang will grow to about 6 or 7 inches at minimum across and neds huge amounts of open water for its swimming needs. Even the smaller tangs such as Bristletoothes will need 60-70 Imperial gallons.
Small reef tanks raelly should only deal with dwarf angels rather than tangs due to the very nature of tangs and their needs. These fish as also highly strung ans very easily stressed, cramping them will only increase the territorial needs and put more pressure ontheir stress levels which means even more chance of catching whitespot or evenworse Oodinium.

The rest seem fine however i would urge caution with the butterfly as they are known muncher on coral polyps.
