first of all hello!

I am planning to set up a small tropical tank soon (I already keep goldfish). I have space limitations but I have seen a tank that should fit well. I don't know the exact capacity but I think it is just over 8 gallons.

I've had a look around, and also looked at the recommendations for a ten gallon thread on this site, and I am rea lly taken by the dwarf gourami. My question is though, could I keep any other fish with him? I was thinking pygmy cories, spotted rasboras and male endlers. It needn't be all three types, but would prefer at least two other types. And how many of them could I keep? And (sorry lots of questions) which ones should I introduce to the tank first? I am going to cycle it witout fish and have all test-kits aleady because of my goldies.

thanks in advance

Youve got to Remember that this is a small tank: You could probably sucessfully go
1xDwarf Gourami
5xPygmy Cories

And that would be the summation of your stocking. The Pygmies really need to be in groups.

Out of interest what substrate are you planning to use and are you going to plant they tank. If you plan on having the cories give them some cover to hide behind

Good luck.

I was planning to use gravel from my goldfish tank which is about 2-3mm. Am also planning to seed the filter with media from my goldfish tank.

I have had bad luck with live plants with my goldfish. They introduced a bacteria and made one of them sick (she is still recovering) so overal I'm not too keen on live plants. Would silk suffice or would these fish really require live plants?

Thanks for your help by the way. I am nervous about over-stocking as I started my goldies in an uncycled seven gallon bowl with an inadequate filter  they are in a 20 gallon now with 10X filtration
