Fish Food Allergies? Help!

I have a wierd question. Has anyone one here ever heard of anyone being allergic to fish flakes? I have had my tanks for years now but in the last year everytime I feed my fish with flakes I start sneezing like crazy for about 20 minutes straight and my noze starts running!! The other types of food doesn' t seem to bother me.

I don't know how this could have developed in the last year or so? Anyone know anything about this?

I had a severe allergic reaction to dust from freeze dried blood worms that sent me to the emergency room. Both of my eyes swelled shut and I looked liked Rocky Balboa..."Yo Adrien! ADRIEN!!!"

On closer inspection of the container I (later) read: This package contains natural products to which some people may have allergic reactions. I also noticed my freeze dried brine shrimp had the same message.

Lesson learned - be more careful and keep Benadryl on hand.

I have been feeding them bloodworms aswell. But the wierd thing is that I never noticed this in the past. This is a kinda recent development. What could I feed my fish instead I wonder. I'll have to take a look at the packaging too. LOLOLOL! You made me laugh!!

Allergies can develop suddenly to something that you are in contact with on a daily basis. My sis had terrible allergies so I had to learn all about them. At this point you have 2 options. 1) switch food 2) take benadryl 20 mins before feeding. Changing food will be easier on you.

im allergic to mesquitos thus blood worms. so when i feed em i cant touch em or i get ichy where i touched em and my eyes start burning.

It's not a big deal. It was one of the 3 types of food I was using for variety. So I just won't use them anymore. Glad I finally figured it out it was really bugging me.
